Und dann...
...hörte ich dieses klirren, das niemand außer mir vernahm und wusste, dass es mein Herz gewesen war, das gerade entzwei gebrochen war. Die Splitter - so klein sie auch waren - schnitten mir ins Fleisch, ließen mich bluten. In diesem winzigen Moment war alles, wofür ich jemals gekämpft hatte zu einem Haufen Asche zerfallen und wehte mir wie Staub ins Gesicht, brannte in meinen Augen. Ich konnte nicht wütend sein, ich konnte nicht einmal hassen. Stattdessen stieg die Traurigkeit in mir auf. Ich hatte alles verloren was mir wichtig gewesen war. Verzweiflung machte sich breit, als sei sie ein letztes aufbäumen gegen die Leere, die diese rasch besiegte. Ich war leer. Weder Hass noch Liebe war geblieben. Nur abgrundtiefe Leere. Sie schluckte meine Gefühle, meine Seele... mich(?) Ich war tot. Ausgebrannt. Nichts. Es gab keinen Grund mehr, weiterzugehen, die Klinge mit dem Leben zu kreuzen. Ich gab auf. Es war vorbei. Wenn man nichts mehr zu gewinnen hat, was hat man dann noch zu verlieren? Ein Leben? Das ich nicht lache. Leben ist Tod - Tod ist Leben. Die Flamme erlosch. Ich schlief ein. Ich weiß nicht wie lange ich schlief bis plötzlich ein Ruck durch meinen Körper ging. Bis der Winter wich und ich erwachte, denn die Flamme war zwar erloschen, doch die Glut brannte weiter. Etwas hatte sie dazu gebracht einen Funken springen zu lassen. Ein Funke, der nicht ohne Bedeutung bleiben sollte, denn er brachte die Wärme zurück und mit der Wärme kam das Licht und mit dem Licht die Hoffnung. Ich stand auf, betrachtete mein Schwert. Vereist war seine Klinge und das Blut, das noch immer daran klebte. Doch je länger ich es betrachtete, desto mehr und mehr schien das Eis zu schmelzen. Ich nahm es in die Hand und fühlte Leben. Es kroch von meinen Fingerspitzen durch meine Venen hinauf bis zu dem Trümmern meines Herzens und sie begannen zu glühen. So geschah es, dass ich den mich an meine Aufgabe erinnerte und erneut die Klinge mit dem Leben kreuzte. Und genau in diesem Augenblick fingen die Splitter Feuer. Sie brannten. Und die Leere wich, der Entschlossenheit und der Liebe...

Die Glut war es gewesen die mich gerettet hatte. Die Glut aus der, der Funke entsprang. Beides waren es die Dinge gewesen, die mich umgebracht hatten und beide gaben mir das Leben zurück. Die Glut von der Ich spreche, war die Sehnsucht...
Und der Funke war die Liebe.
Und die Liebe warst du...
